As Autumn Budget Looms – 73% Say Government Is Failing UK Nightlife Says Ne NTIA & Obsurvant Consumer Survey Report

New research from Obsurvant and the Night Time Industries Association reveals a stark picture of Britain’s nightlife under pressure. While people still recognise its cultural and social value — with 65% saying nights out lift their mood and 59% believing it enhances quality of life — rising costs, unsafe streets, and limited late-night transport are preventing many from taking part.

73% feel the Government isn’t supporting the sector, 76% say nights out have become unaffordable, and only 60% feel safe late at night. With 68% stating they would go out more if transport were safer, the findings highlight an urgent need for investment in safety, infrastructure, and affordability to protect the UK’s night-time economy and the culture it sustains.
