Just Four Months After Obtaining Consultative Status, the International Nightlife Association (INA) Has Been Elevated to Full Membership Within the UN’s CoNGO

We are proud to share that the International Nightlife Association (INA) has been officially upgraded to Full Member status within the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO)—only four months after securing Consultative Status this past January.

This milestone reflects the INA’s unwavering commitment to advancing the global nightlife sector through meaningful engagement with the United Nations. In partnership with the Faculty of Nightlife Studies and Appleton Private University, the INA has already submitted seven official reports to the UN in recent months, actively contributing to key discussions on sustainability, safety, economic impact, and social inclusion.

As the first organization representing the global nightlife sector to achieve ECOSOC consultative status, the INA’s promotion to full CoNGO membership is a major achievement. It recognizes nightlife’s growing relevance in global conversations around sustainable urban development, cultural policy, mental health, youth empowerment, and inclusive cities.

Full CoNGO membership allows the INA to engage more deeply in the UN ecosystem—submitting reports, building coalitions, influencing policy, and advocating directly for the strategic interests of nightlife worldwide.

“Being upgraded to full membership within CoNGO of the UN and having already submitted seven reports is a tremendous recognition of the INA’s ongoing commitment to responsible global nightlife advocacy,” said Joaquim Boadas de Quintana, General Secretary of the INA. “This platform gives nightlife a voice in shaping international standards around safety, sustainability, and cultural development.”

Seven Reports: Elevating Nightlife on the Global Stage
