Until We Lose Them All...

UK nightclubs are on the verge of extinction. Since March 2020, we’ve lost 37% of our beloved clubs, 3 per week and over 150 each year if current trends continue, December 31, 2029, will be “The Last Night Out” as we know it. The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has issued a stark warning: unless urgent action is taken, the UK’s iconic nightclubs will vanish from our cities, leaving behind a cultural and economic void.

Nightclubs like Fabric, Ministry of Sound, and SubClub are more than just places to dance—they are cultural institutions, vital to our economy, community, and identity. They foster creativity, build lifelong friendships, and keep local economies thriving. However, with 10 clubs closing every month, these spaces are disappearing fast.

  • Provide Sustained Financial Support: Nightclubs need long-term strategies and targeted financial aid to survive the ongoing economic challenges.
  • Grant Cultural Protection: Iconic clubs must be recognised as National Portfolio Organisations, like galleries and museums, ensuring they receive the same funding and protections.
  • Reform Policies & Regulations: A review of licensing laws, business rates, and planning policies is crucial to create a supportive environment for the industry.

If we don’t act now, the UK’s nightlife will be gone forever. Help us save this vital part of our cultural fabric—sign the petition and ensure that future generations can experience the vibrant night-time culture that has defined our cities for decades.

Urgent Need to Protect the UK’s Night-Time Economy

The situation is critical: the number of nightclubs has plummeted by over 37% since March 2020, with 461 venues closing permanently. Without meaningful support from the Government, this vital cultural sector will disappear entirely.
