The invitation was extended by the Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, further cementing the INA’s role as a global benchmark in the nightlife industry.
The Summit will convene heads of business, government representatives, civil society leaders, and UN officials to foster bold action toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This landmark event underscores the growing recognition of the nightlife sector as a meaningful contributor to sustainability, social impact, and responsible development.
Michael Kill, Vice President of INA and CEO of NTIA has stated, “We are honored and excited to be invited to represent the global nightlife sector at the 2025 United Nations Leaders Summit. This is a landmark opportunity to highlight the cultural, social, and economic significance of nightlife on an international stage. As a vital part of urban life and a driver of innovation, community, and economic growth, the nightlife sector deserves a prominent voice in global discussions. We look forward to collaborating with international leaders to shape policies that support vibrant, safe, and inclusive nightlife ecosystems around the world.”
For his part, Joaquim Boadas, General Secretary of INA said, “Being invited to the 2025 United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit represents a major milestone for our organization and the global nightlife sector as a whole. It validates our longstanding efforts to promote responsible, inclusive, and sustainable practices across the industry. Nightlife is not just about entertainment, it is a powerful platform for economic development, cultural expression, and social cohesion. We are committed to using this opportunity to advocate for the integration of nightlife into global sustainability strategies while continuing to lead by example through concrete actions aligned with the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles and the 2030 Agenda.”

The INA’s invitation reflects the organization’s firm commitment to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which address human rights, labor, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. Since becoming an active participant in the Compact, the INA has worked tirelessly to promote sustainability and responsible practices across the nightlife industry on a global scale.
This recognition marks a significant step forward in integrating nightlife into the broader international conversation around sustainability. The INA will use its platform at the Summit to spotlight initiatives across its network related to energy efficiency, inclusive hiring, waste reduction, venue safety, and more, demonstrating how nightlife venues can align their operations with the 2030 Agenda.
