Culture, entertainment, music, and nightlife fans and industry professionals in the UK Midlands are celebrating the arrival of new multi-genre and multi-use venue, The Complex, which opens in Burton, Staffordshire, in time for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The final touches are being added to the Grade II-listed 2,000-capacity building in the centre of the UK’s ‘brewing capital’ following an extensive £100,000 renovation, which includes the preservation of original features, including 1950s Zenith 4000 cinema projectors and Art Deco ceilings and flooring.
The Complex is the first major investment in the town’s music offering and nighttime economy for some years, and has been warmly welcomed by residents of the historic town, as well as DJs, musicians, producers and key figures from across music and media.
Located on the landmark heritage site of St George’s Hall, Burton Opera House, The Ritz, and most recently Robin’s, The Complex comprises three spaces including The Lifestyle Bar, Mono and Robin’s Arena making up a total capacity of 2,000.
The installation of cutting-edge audio-visual production systems, including an L’Acoustics KARA sound system and LED lighting arrays, batons and screens, ahead of the opening Chapter 1 event will help mark the opening of the building as well as a new era for culture, music and nightlife in Staffordshire.
British electronic stars Fabio & Grooverider, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Lisa Maffia & Romeo, Oxide & Neutrino, K Klass, Dillinja, and Nicky Blackmarket are amongst the 25 DJs, MCs, producers and vocalists confirmed to perform on Saturday 21 December.
Talent from across the region including B15 Project and The Usual Suspect are also set to appear at the special evening event across all three spaces, which will be followed by Winter Wonderland New Year’s Eve in the ground floor Lifestyle Bar on Tuesday 31 December 2024.
