Christie Hayes MIH, Hotel Manager at Penmaenuchaf, Dolgellau, Wales and 2023 Restaurant Manager of the Year winner, has been appointed chair of the Institute of Hospitality’s Cymru (Wales) Region.
IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI confirmed the Institute’s nominations committee had made the appointment and he was delighted at their selection. “As a former Restaurant Manager of the Year winner, and with Christie’s depth of experience living and working in Wales over the past few years, I am sure she will bring lots of fresh and dynamic ideas to the role as chair of the IoH Cymru (Wales) Region. She will be a great asset to the region and our worldwide hospitality family.”
The role, vacated by Thomas Ferrante MIH due to his relocation to London, will see Christie take over the reins to promote the Institute’s activities across Wales.
Speaking about her new role Christie said: “I am honoured and excited to take over the role as chair of IoH Cymru (Wales) and work with the Institute to promote professional hospitality learning and development across Wales, something which is very close to my heart.
“Promoting hospitality as a valued profession, is one of my passions and I am committed to helping the Institute’s local members get maximum value from their membership and hope members and non-members will get involved with the new events we are planning across the region in the coming months” she confirmed.
