This Act makes changes to the Pavement Licence procedure and provides off-sales to all non-exempt Premises until 2300.

“The Business and Planning Act 2020 has today received Royal Assent and is now in force with immediate effect.

The Act has been enacted in an attempt to restart the British economy due to the Coronavirus pandemic and has introduced a range of new measures to help businesses to quickly adjust and adapt to the ‘new normal’.

The Act is similar to the draft Bill, but there are the following changes:

1) Pavement Licences – there must be regard to the needs of disabled people and reasonable provisions must be made for an outdoor ‘smoke-free’ area
2) Off Sales – these are limited to 2300 and existing conditions relating to external areas will continue to apply.

The full act is available here.
